THE FIRM

After the fire, the Investigation. Before, the Prevention.

Every fire is unique. The Investigation begins with the recognition of the need and the definition of the problem: nature of the fire, scope of the assignment, initial available data. Then comes the data collection at the scene — recording Traces of Combustion, sampling, photography, preservation of elements relevant to the Investigation.

Data analysis compares each piece of evidence against technical knowledge: deformations, residues, physical markers. Hypotheses are formulated then subjected to hypothesis testing — each scenario is verified, compared against the facts, retained or eliminated.
